Hand In Hand proudly participates in the NSW Government Start Strong Program, providing fee relief to eligible families for high-quality preschool education. This initiative ensures children receive at least 600 hours of play-based learning before school, building essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills for lifelong success.

I arrived in Australia in 2014 and immediately began working as a nanny, where I discovered a deep and genuine passion for working with children. This experience inspired me to pursue my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, followed by my Diploma, which I completed between Sydney and Melbourne while gaining hands-on experience as an educator in various centres.
My career then took a significant step forward when I began working alongside Joey, the owner of Hand in Hand, who at the time was with another organisation. Under his mentorship, I was trained and developed into a 2IC, Educational Leader, and eventually Centre Director. I had the privilege of working closely with him for five years, continuously learning and growing under his guidance.
Since June 2025, I have taken on the role of Operations Manager, where I continue to bring my experience, leadership, and passion into supporting teams and delivering high-quality education.
I am deeply passionate about early childhood education because I truly believe that changing the world begins with how we educate and nurture children. I value connection with nature, joy, and meaningful communication, and I strive to embed these elements into children’s everyday learning experiences. I am also very active and love incorporating movement and engaging activities into my practice, helping children learn through play, exploration, and curiosity.

Julia: In 2009, I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps and study to become a primary school teacher. I enrolled in a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Birth -12 years) at Macquarie University and began working in a childcare centre while studying. I was initially excited about primary teaching and saw the early childhood component of the degree as an added bonus.
However, as I progressed through my studies and gained hands-on experience, I became truly captivated by how a child’s brain develops in the first five years of life. I was especially intrigued by the role we, as educators, play in influencing and guiding this development. It was during this time that my passion shifted, and my heart became fully committed to early childhood education.
I graduated from Macquarie University in 2014 and continue to build on my knowledge through ongoing professional development, reading, in-services, and further learning opportunities.
A favourite quote that guides my philosophy is:
“When we adults think of children, there is a simple truth that we ignore: childhood is not preparation for life; childhood is life.”
– John A. Taylor
I have worked in the childcare sector for over sixteen years, gaining extensive experience across a range of roles.
At home, I am a proud mum to my twins and a proud stepmum to my stepson. My family mean the world to me and continue to inspire and deepen my passion for early childhood education every day.

My journey into early childhood education began during high school, when I completed a volunteer placement at a local preschool. What started as a short experience quickly grew into something much more meaningful, and I knew I had found a career I genuinely loved.
From there, I continued to build my qualifications step by step, completing my Certificate III and Diploma before graduating with a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education in 2024. Throughout this time, I worked within the sector, gaining hands-on experience and developing my understanding of how to best support children in their early years.
In 2026, I celebrate 10 years of working in early childhood education.
Across my career, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from a variety of roles and environments, which has shaped my approach as both an educator and a leader. I am passionate about creating a calm, supportive space where children feel safe to explore, build confidence, and develop a strong sense of belonging.
Outside of work, I am a mum to my 5 year old son, who continues to inspire my perspective on learning and development every day. I also place a strong focus on my own wellbeing, enjoying time at the gym, running, going for walks, and exploring nature whenever I can, including running around with a crazy 5 year old.
