Start Strong Program

Overview:
Hand In Hand proudly participates in the NSW Government Start Strong Program, providing fee relief to eligible families for high-quality preschool education. This initiative ensures children receive at least 600 hours of play-based learning before school, building essential social, emotional, and cognitive skills for lifelong success.

Key Benefits:
- Fee relief of up to $2,174 per child (4 years and above) and up to $515 per child (3 years old).
- Supports children experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage, with the greatest benefits for them.
- Encourages participation and attendance in quality preschool programs to prepare children for school.

4-Year-Olds
- 4-Year-Olds: Children aged 4 years old on or before 31 July 2025.
- 3-Year-Olds: Children aged 3 years old, not yet 4, on or before 31 July 2025.
- Families need to complete a ‘Families Declaration Form’ to access the fee relief.
Program Principles
- Ensures access to at least 600 hours/year of preschool education.
- Focuses on inclusivity, supporting Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and multicultural children.
- Aims to improve educational outcomes, ease transitions to school, and support family well-being.
